Actually, the house looks nice. Better than the one I used to live in with my family five years ago.
I like when the thing is made of wood because they look much cozier than the concrete or aluminum ones. The soffit and fascia are the only places where aluminum looks nice and useful. If you make them of wood, there is a high possibility of it bending down or getting any other kind of distortion. Even if you cover the wood with a very good anti-corrosion solution. It’s just wood, and you can do nothing about that.
Regarding the porch in your house, I can advise you to get more screws there and fasten the things as much as possible.
