Hi all. So I have a question. I have gotten an offer to sell 30% and 49% of my businesses to what I have to describe as a perfect partner. He is a multi millionare, has had hundreds of staff and personality-wise, we match perfectly and I believe we will become the type of partners who go out friday night for beers and a stake. His goal is to raise the businesses to be worth 12million in 5 years.
At the moment, I am in the start-up face. I have been running my businesses 13 respectivly 15 month and I started from scratch with 20usd, two empty hands, no network and no education.
So far, one of the business is break even, but with 50k invested into it. This however has insane scalability and potential for profit and we both are more interested in this, regardless if the current state is break even.
The other has made about 350k profit in 15 month and have a stock of wares of 40k. 60k in capital and 1k in expenses every month
Heres where Im stuck. He will offer me next to nothing, will make me take a modest salary initially, use every bit of profit to scale the businesses. At the moment, he is retired and middle aged, but he hates the retired lifestyle so he will focus in this business and scale it at just insane speed. I also think that the business can be worth more than 12million in 5 years if we can grow internationally.
I will also get alot of knowledge for free, because he has gone through the process of handling internationall businesses etc. And because I know nothing of building structure and managing businesses, building real estate, investing etc. this will give me a first class education of building international businesses because of how close I will work with someone of that caliber.
Just sucks he wont give me any money for something that is worth alot someting, especially business 2. One way to see it is that I invest maybe 500k of "potential" money I get if I sell it so someone else and I invest in this partner and the possibility of insane profit further on. Does anyone has some ideas on what to do in a situation like this?
He values your two businesses as being worth next to nothing. Do you agree with this?
Since you value his potential time investment / contacts / experience, how can you make sure this can be put to successful use? What is the negative consequence for him if he does not deliver specific results? As a partner he should be taking on some form of risk (potential loss of his equity / investment money / time / reputation etc.).
I didn't believe in cryptocurrencies before, but now I think that investing in cryptocurrencies can bring considerable income. I'm going to open my own company, which will be solely engaged in the brokerage business. I understand that I need to buy office space and hire good staff. What advice can you give to a beginning businessman? To begin with, I want to contact a consulting company https://barkersprocurement.com/procurement-consultancy/. They'll help me with purchases. However, the rest of the business plan is left up to me. Of course, I have several options for developing my future business right now. But I'd like to get an opinion from someone who has been spinning in this for at least ten years.
