I just read something recently concerning "farmers markets" that has my head spinning and I thought I should share my thoughts with my fellow members. Maybe you can help me to understand this movement and what affect it is having or will have our jobs in the long-term.
"The number of farmers markets listed in the USDA National Farmers Markets increased from 3,706 in 2004 to 8,268 in 2014. Plus, the Iowa researchers found the number of Internet searches for farmers markets has almost tripled during that same 10-year period, and the number of newspaper articles that mention farmers markets has almost quadrupled."
Now this isn't your typical road-side-stands we are talking about. This is a huge new "business movement". A business movement that is taking a piece out of the $650 billion dollar grocery pie
