Anyone seen this or use it? If I was still running a market I think I would give it a try.
The Butchers App is is the modern way to manage your store, putting you back in control.
One part of it I really would use is the
Customer Database
Know who your customers are, where they are located and their contact information, so you can communicate directly with them when you haven't seen them for a while at the touch of a button.
I have seen it, have not used it. Currently my POS tracks customers in a loyalty club (carnivore club go figure). If they elect I send out a special email to them with special deals only club members get. I send out nearly 4,000 every time and the list keeps growing. It also tracks purchases so I can target by product bought or how much $$$ they spend or number of visits in a specific time frame etc.
One nice feature is it remembers special orders so customers can just say I want the same size and type roast I had last Christmas and we have it on file.

If I was still in the trade I would definitely give it a try. I was an early adopter of personal computers which I started using at work in 1981. I used both my Epson Geneva PX-8 laptop and my Osborne-1 portable, both of which used the CP/M operating system. I used SuperCalc (an early spreadsheet program) to build a database of all my cutting tests. By updating it with the week's prices it was easy to see which cutting methods would beat the company's retail yields on sale items, thus which cuts to push, and minimize shrink. Before I was a manager and was full time I used Personal Pearl, a relational database to track all my hours (as a part timer I would get anywhere from 20 to 80 hours per week). The more data I accumulated the better I could see which weeks (low hour weeks) to request paid time off and which were the high hour weeks so I would never request time off in those weeks. I used that to maximize my hours and force the company to grant me full time benefits which required averaging 125 hours/month for six consecutive months and then later to make me officially full time. I also used Personal Pearl to record my department's sales and hours so I was not at the mercy of the company's numbers. I used a program called Milestone to fiddle with production and optimize workflows which helped me max out $$/man-hour.
