Club memberMolly Hansen( right ) was interviewed for the Labor Day weekend issue of the Seattle Times
for a story about women in the trades. She will be featured with several other women of various trades including iron workers, linemen, truckers , Boeing employees, electricians etc... Molly will be the only one feature from the food industry. She was approached by a young woman months ago while volunteering at the UFCW local 21 booth for the Women in Trades show that is for mostly high school girls and women changing career paths. She was taken aback by my "girlie-ness and my refreshing attitude regarding the love and passion for meat cutting " not my job or career path but the work itself. Today she met with her and the reporter. she was nervous. She said, All of the female cutters and many of you all that have helped and encouraged me through my journey to journeymen all deserve to be acknowledged for your hard work and the path that has been paved with literally your, along with my, blood, sweat, and tears. She was asked specifically if she found her self encouraging other females to get into butchering and meat cutting. If she taught and educate or overall sway people to our side of the block. She replied that as I am so much a very new cutter that I am on the other side of the question. It's with immense gratitude that she thank all and especially thanks her girls of the knife. This is her team, my finest teachers, my friends and my loves. she wouldn't be where she is today without all of you
Molly will be traveling around the country before long, she would like to meet other meat cutters as she travels, anyone that would like to meet her can contact her at https://instagram.com/carnivorous_rabbit55/
