what do you do when someone asks to grind a half pound of fillet or sirloin etc.
Do you explain they might not get what you put into the grinder back and say they would be better off putting it in a food processor or do you say nothing.
Ive been asked this a few times for people who are pregnant and people with babies.
My thought on it its best to explain rather than to send them off clueless.
I also had a similar thing with someone wanting one organic chicken breast ground I said once I grind it it will mix with other chicken so it cant be organic he persisted Im sure he took home ground turkey.
I run some trim in behnd it to get as much out as possible then reweight it on the scale for a new price. expalin that some of it gets stuck in the nozzle of the grinder before and that you will get as much out as you can and will give them a price for what you did get out.
I never grind poultry. Unless you have a second grinder specifically for poultry I don't recommend it.
Yep I do the same because I dont want them to get ripped off and they should get what they pay for.
i think the people who asked me the pregnant person and the ones who want it for babies are doing it because they read some magazine article or something that someone suggests to reduce fat in the meat when the meat is going to have the other ground stuff in it anyway so it negates their intentions. Because its fillet or ground sirloin they what with all the fat cut off.
