Make your theme in 2014 " re-educating the consumer "

Mainemeatman posted the below under " Message to consumers/advertising/benefits of eating beef "

Mainemeatman has hit the nail on the head, this is something each meat cutter should take a few mins to do with customers you get to talk with.

You ever feel like we (the industry) is being defined by the liberal media and angry vegans...and everything anti-meat?????

listen to the messages, on tv, on the internet,  in print, radio, when was the last time you heard  or seen advertised,

a woman eat a steak and say "this is delicious"!!

instead,,,we get pink-slimed constantly, in the media,,, and new buzz phrases are being used by the anti-meat eaters- "commercially farmed"  "disgusting feedlots"

woman  still do most of the shopping, including  buying meats,  they hear all this crap and believe a lot of it- how often do you hear  a lady say "I (or our family) doesn't eat red meat anymore"  i'm hearing this more and more because of the sensationalism in the media- and their is no balance on the other side,,,if there is,,i don't hear it,,

when is the last time you saw beef is part of a healthy diet???

many  medical articles recently, that beef isn't as bad as once thought,,,but there is a crusade against beef and meats- a growing sector wants to treat meats like cigarettes...shunned by society..

like most things- its up to us- we are in the industry and we deal directly with customers...

i  often talk with customers,  and one last week, asked why she hasnt  bought burger in the  past two weeks, this is her reply " my daughter said all burger has pink slime in it, no matter what they say "  and her daughter is a vegan-so it fits her agenda

so, for 10 minutes - it took to convince this customer,,,we don't-never did have pink slime at this store

and there in lies the problem...agenda driven propaganda

at customer level we need to educate the customer,,,, i've seen stores print off hand outs, and place signs around the meat case, of encouraging  -consuming meats is healthy..

thats my theme in 2014  re-educating the consumer

because we are sitting ducks out here in the propaganda -agenda driven headlines..
