ENJOY THE BEACHES OF BERMUDA

Leading supermarket chain on the island of Bermuda are currently in search of Experienced Meat Cutters to join their team.  Bermuda is an upscale, English-speaking island off the coast of the Carolinas, and our client operates eight full-service stores on the island.

Main things you need to know about this unique opportunity:

  • You must have at least three years of meat cutting experience within a RETAIL setting (supermarket / grocery store or butcher shop)
  • The minimum commitment / contract is three years
  • The hourly rate is $21.73 and there is opportunity for significant overtime.  Most cutters earn between $60-70k, with many earning more.  The company also offers benefits and paid vacation.
  • Bermuda does have a high cost-of-living, but that is offset with the fact that your income is NOT SUBJECT TO U.S. TAXES.  Under IRS regulations for Foreign Earned Income Exclusion, your first $97,600 of income is exempt from taxation while you are living and working abroad.  Other countries, including Canada, have similar tax policies.  After local Bermuda taxes and healthcare costs, you keep approximately 88% of your paycheck.
  • This is usually an opportunity for a single person, as immigration restrictions typically prevent bringing a spouse or children to the island.
  • You must have a clean criminal history to be considered for this opportunity and must be in good overall health.
  • My client company has been in business since 1939 and is extremely profitable.
  • The company is owned by a Bermudian family, but it is run day-to-day primarily by Americans.  The President, VP Ops and Meat Director (whom I placed) are all Americans.
  • The interview process consists of 2-3 telephone interviews, then a personal visit to the island for 2-3 days, so that you may see all of the stores in person, meet key personnel, have dinner with other meat cutters who have come over to the island, etc.  My client is very transparent and open during the interview process, as this is a big decision.
  • If you are offered a contract, you would then go through the work permit application process with the Bermudian government.  It typically takes 10-14 days to gather all of the required information, then another 4-6 weeks for approval.
  • The company does reimburse relocation expenses and will provide temporary housing and transportation when you first arrive on the island.  Relocation expenses are typically minimal, as most folks rent a furnished apartment and only bring over clothing and personal essentials.

For more details, take a look at the job posting at http://jwickline.com/jobs/view/job-0171.  You may also feel free to contact me directly - jason@jwickline.com or toll-free 877-889-8995.  I have placed several folks within the past few years and have been to the island personally, so I would be happy to answer any questions you may have, then provide you with a lot of additional information to research.

Thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you if you're interested and in a position to move outside the country.
