I may have done a similar post last time. I forget.
Once in a while, maybe once a year or two, a customer is nice enough to bring in a tender delicious right off the grill steak that they don't like for some stupid reason. It happened earlier this week. They/he/she got their refund (I didn't see who it was). We cut up the steak and shared it. It was delicious! Tender too! We have an open cutting area right behind the counter. Customers see and hear everything. It was quite a show. I don't know if the customer saw/heard it or not, but I was talking it up real good in case they were within ear shot. I wanted them to know how delicious their steak was and how greatful we were to them for feeding us.
well no we never cut it up and enjoyed it. However I did have it brought back a few time cooked and dumped in a bag and they claimed it was rotten. My question (that I kept to myself) was if it was rotten why did you cook it? Lots of times I have had uncooked stuff brought back that was perfectly fine and fresh but the customer swears it was rotten. Well okay if they say so.
ONE OLDER MAN PURCHASED A PACK OF EIGHT MEATBALLS FROM MY MARKET. THEY ARE MADE OF PORK WITH ONONS, GREEN PEPPERS AND GREEN ONIONS CHOPPED IN THEM AND SEASONED WITH SALT AND RED PEPPER. HE WALKED INTO MY STORE WITH THEM ALL COOKED AND SAID THEY WERE NOT GOOD. I KNEW THEY WERE GOOD BECAUSE I HAD JUST MADE THEN MYSELF AND EVERYTHING WAS FRESH. I PICKED ONE UP AND BIT HALF OF IT OFF AND ATE IT. I TOLD HIM THEY WERE FINE THAT HE MIGHT NOT LIKE THEM BUT THEY WERE GOOD. I TOLD HIM SINCE HE WAS NOT SATISFIED I WOULD GIVE HIS MONEY BACK BUT THEY WERE GOOD. I PUT THE OTHER HALF IN MY MOUTH AND ATE IT. I TOLD HIM " I CAN'T IMPROVE ON THAT"
Not ever ..once it leaves the store, in the can it goes. That being said though, leaker bacon and left over wholw eggies from damaged cartons have made for a good "sampling demo" @ 4am in the past...
