I logged 12 hours and 15 minutes today; a one-man show. No clerk to speak of except for the retired school-teacher fella who helps out at his own pace. Began at 6am, I finally got the truck completely unloaded at 4pm.
First of the month indeed. Saturday is going to be nuts. It's going to explode with the weather finally in the 60's during the heat of the day.
Regarding overtime: If I work in excess of 40 hours in a given week I receive 1.5x on those minutes, except weeks where I worked a Sunday, in which case 1.5x pay is only on those minutes in excess of 48 hours in the given week. The rationale (excuse) is we were already paid 1.5x for Sunday. (I also work alone on Sunday, what a crock! As much as $280,000 in weekly sales at wholesale prices) I did not know that when I was hired, I understood otherwise.
For this reason, shady overtime betrayal, I shall quit my job in January 2014. Alas, I am a wage-slave and I 'need' to build resumé experience.
