- Micro Summit Processors Incorporated was recently launched as a USDA-inspected slaughter and processing facility specializing in cattle, lambs, and goats. Located in the Town of Micro, conveniently near I-95 and Hwy-301 in Johnston County, MPSI seeks to produce high-value, consistent, and safe meat products that exceed the rapidly changing needs of our producers with excellence and customer care. The 15,000 square foot facility offers full cooking capabilities, as well as cold storage opportunities for producers.
Plant Owner Amy Robinette states, “Humane handling and sanitation are two of the most frequent words spoken at our plant. We realize that producers spend years caring for their animals and our goal is to honor those efforts throughout the entire slaughter and processing steps. As the owner of MSPI and as the wife of a cattle producer, I understand the importance of utilizing the entire animal for optimal resell value. My staff and I will take the time to get to know your business and will customize our services to maximize your income potential.”
“North Carolina’s local and niche meat producers, processors and buyers are fortunate to have new and improving meat processing infrastructure such as Micro Summit Processors. Summit Micro Processors, as well as the many other small and mid-size businesses, are re-tooling, re-training and scaling up to meet the demand for products and services in the local and niche meat industry in North Carolina and beyond,” says NC Choices Director Casey McKissick.
Micro Summit Processors is located at 203 South Railroad Street, Micro, NC. Plant owner Amy Robinette can be reached at (919)284-0064 or by email at microsummitprocessors@gmail.com.
