NEW MEMBER FROM SCOTLAND,

WRIGHT'S BUTCHER SHOP

Photobucket

Photobucket

Wright's is well known for its great produce and home made steak pies and we hope to continue to uphold our great reputation with our website and home deliveries. Customers from all over the UK mainland can order some of our brilliant scotch produce. Handy for those who live near by, even better for those who have moved away from Scotland and miss a roll and square sausage or a scotch pie!!

Wright's of East Kilbride, has been based in the same premises for over 60 years and run by the Wright family for 50 years. The business which was bought by the current owner Stephen, in 1996 has remained just as popular with the residents of East Kilbride and customers from further afield. Stephen, who has worked in all areas of the meat trade, runs the shop with the help of his hard working and dedicated staff George, Lorna, Stewart & Aimie. (with the occasional visits from Scott, Aaron & Kirsty Anne)

The approx distance between Dunoon and East Kilbride in a straight line is 33 miles or 53.1 KMS

My father was in the U.S. Navy. He was sent to serve on the ship USS Canopus AS 34. So naturally he took us with him. The Canopus was a Submarine Tender with a dry dock behind it. It pretty much just sat there* and submarines would come there and park next to the ship and some would end up in the dry dock. The ship was actually in Holy Loch, but many American families lived in Dunoon, a nearby town. I was in 6th and 7th grade during that time and unemployed. I do wish I had more closely looked at the meat shops. I do have and I did post a picture of sign from a Scottish butcher shop (didn't I?)

It said "Best Scottish Beef from Wales". A funny sign. See, Wales is a country, so how could it be Scottish beef if it's from Wales? Because in this case, "Wales" was the owners last name and not the origin of the beef. As we passed the sign in our car, I asked dad to stop and go back so that I could take the picture.

We took some pictures of Scottish Highland Cattle too. They have long reddish hair and long horns. I had one for my avatar picture for a while if you remember.
