Producers, processors, chefs and allied businesses will benefit from an opportunity to join members of the NC Local Sustainable Food Advisory Council to discuss opportunities and challenges to advancing the niche meat sector in the state, including through regulatory reform.
The NC Local Sustainable Foods Advisory Council and NC Choices are hosting a Local Foods Listening Session during the Second Carolina Meat Conference at the WinRock Center in Kernersville on Tuesday December 4 from 10:15-11:45 a.m.
Don Delozier, Director, NCDA&CS Meat and Poultry Inspection Division; Judy R Daye, Environmental Health Regional Specialist, Food Protection Program, Division of Public Health, NC Department of Health and Human Services; and Keith Payne, Deputy Director, Outreach and Partnership Division, Food Safety and Inspection Service, United States Department of Agriculture. Facilitators are: Shivaugn Rayl , Sustainable Food NC, Coalition Director, Carolina Farm Stewardship Association and Debbie Hamrick, Director, Specialty Crops, North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation and NC Local Sustainable Foods Advisory Council.
