Up here in the great white north a new player is about to join the gang. Target has taken over some of the old Zeller store sites and construction is in full swing. I know nothing about the target stores but the buzz from management is that they will take over the grocery business much like Wallmart has taken over the retail business . My current store manager said yesterday that one major grocery chain will not survive. Who knows the meat department in a target store and are the prices low and what about the quality and service. They will open in my area next year as well as a new costco store. Really, the compitition is getting crazy.
There are a few Targets in San Jose where I live. The one near Capitol Expressway and White Rd has case ready meat. Beef steaks precut wrapped and priced. I never checked the price.
