A merchandiser can wear many hats- a meat supervisor, a district merchandiser-putting on district meetings and presentations....and you got to be sober doing this opening new stores, budgeting for new stores a trainer and troubleshooter- if a dept has a low gross margin, you need to be able to identify why,,and be amicable about communications,,,so a meat manager doesnt throw a knife at your back.... You need to be able to leave your ego at the door---and try to assist, support meat dept personnel,,,,no one wants to hear how great you are,,when they are having challenges- you need leadership qualities, that earn respect not foster animosity
