For Immediate Release:
NC Choices, with funding from the NC Rural Center and in partnership with the NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, requests applications for participation in the NC Choices Meat Processor Business Development Assistance Program (MPBDA Program). The MPBDA Program seeks to fund innovative projects designed to advance the local and niche meat processing sector in North Carolina.  Of particular interest are projects that enhance existing small-scale meat processors’ capacity to provide high quality processing services for independent meat producers and food-service buyers.  Applications that demonstrate the ability to incorporate new knowledge, skills and equipment to improve the scope of services and expand capacity within meat processing businesses are highly encouraged.
The deadline for applications is December 14th, 2012.
