Well about a month ago I accepted a job offer with Alaska commercial company. Been extremely busy packing and prepping. Flew into anchorage, Alaska today. Got in about noon. Bought a couple of suits today at the men's wearhouse for my orientation tomorrow. Meeting with some higher ups within the company. Then Tuesday I fly out to kotzebue where I'll be manager in training for 6 months to a year then off to a permanent management position. Will update everyone more at a later time!

Good luck in the new job Kevin. I'd like to hear more about it after you've been there a few days/weeks.
Watch out for bears. I heard someone got killed by one in Alaska yesterday.
I have a cousin who lives in north pole alaska. he says he is always getting chased by moose and every time he comes out of a store or something there are a couple bears hanging around his truck.. it gets so cold up there you have to stay in the middle of the room because the walls are freezing. You can't turn your car off in the winter or you won't get it started in the morning. Just to give you a heads up. Other wise its a beautiful place full of opportunity for those who have the balls to go. My wife keeps saying she wants to take a teaching job up there because it will pay so much better but i keep reminding her that she doesn't handle cold very well. I am happy for you buddy I am sure you will be just fine there. Definitly check in with us and give us an update from time to time.
All I can say is you will never want to come back to the lower 48.I they would except this crazy cannuck I would move there in a minute,Love the winters there. You got to check out the dog races, there are lots of them.Get the iditarod bug.Enjoy yourself to the fullest.
