Survey ranks customers' favorite grocery shopping destinations

Market Force Information released results of a survey of 6,428 U.S. and Canadian consumers conducted in March, showing Giant-Landover in the top spot, followed by ShopRite, Wal-mart, Publix and Costco. Giant, officially known as Giant Food and based in Landover, Md., got high marks for its fast checkouts and organic options, but discount grocer Aldi beat out the others on price, while Publix was recognized for atmosphere and courteous staff. Wal-mart was recognized for convenience as a one-stop shopping destination, but placed last for courteous staff and high-quality meat and produce.
Shoppers ranked the deli, butcher and baker as the most important departments, and considered high-quality produce more important than high-quality meat, with long wait times in the checkout lines causing the most dissatisfaction.

I can remember when people used the deli as a fill in, now looks like something fast is preferred over a good meal.  last for courteous staff and high-quality meat and produce.  nothing like GOOD customer service, you wonder if they have ever regretted getting rid of their meat cutters ???

RE: Survey WHAT IS YOUR OPINION ??

Surveys are one dimensional-and some folks answer questions on ideals not reality

if you asked 100 customers if they'd like to eat more organic meat or produce, they'd all raise thier hands.......but that doesnt mean they are all willing to pay for it.

A Store should be personally promoting thier meatcutters- Pictures of them in the flyers- I use to push many stores to put "Butcher Notes" in an ad, just a small informative text box, usually of commonly asked questions from customers-like what's a good steak for the grill? why does burger turn dark in the middle? All answered by the meatcutter
