One thing that really bothers me is that in some trades, they will do things to a customer that we'd never consider. Automobile mechanics in particular. They very often don't complete a job when they say they will. They force you to buy stuff you don't need. Etc.
Another thing. I had a situation with the home owners association. I called the rep for my area. Left a message. Never heard back. I called again. This time I got a live person. What does she say? She said for me to e-mail her with my question. E-mail her???? Why? I'm talking to her now. Why can't I ask her now? How would that go over where we work? Someone calls. "I'd like six pork chops cut 2 inches think" what would happen if we said "e-mail us"? Oh, by the way. She never returned my e-mail, or the call before the e-mail or my call after it.
Would anyone here never return a business call?
Anyway, is it just me, or do some people in other trades disappoint you sometimes? I mean in a way that you'd never consider doing when people come to you? Things that would get you fired. Things that would hurt the store. I don't mean the kid at McDonalds getting minumim wage.
I dig where you coming from burgermeister, happens all the time. one place I hate to see it happen is in our stores, how many times have you took care of the customer just to see them get to the front of the store and some cashier piss them off. I've seen cashiers in my store and other places that look at you with a look that says WHY are you bothering me by coming through my lane
oh yeah blade man I see that too sometimes..thats why i make it a point to carry any expensive orders to the register and sometimes to the car for the customer just to make to sure that snotty cashier is at her best behavior that day Sometimes I really dislike cashiers.
BM I ll try to answer your questions even though I can't think of any specific trade. I know the mechanics and other customer service people will either avoid us or screw us over in some way. I like to think in working with meat or food we don't have that luxury. If we do our job half assed someone might get sick. There are state and federal inspectors who come in and make sure we are sanitary, they even sometimes check our scales to make sure we aren't adding weight to the products. Its harder and riskier for us to hide any dishonest practices we might be considering. When It comes to the lose of money or the lose of time with material goods the goverment doesn't care all that much but when we are talking about things people eat they will take that very seriously. Thats my opinion anyway. Also for me personally I just don't want it on my conscience that someone got sick or was harmed in any other way on my shift.
