Yesterday we had our third annual Friends and Family day in our store, heres how it works. Each employee is given the opportunity to invite four guest, who are then sent a special invitation to shop our store with a 20% discount on thier order! Huge Success! What do you think of this type of promotion?
First I think it's good of the owners to show they appreicate their help. the promotion thing sounds good, you get any kind of report about how much in sales it bought in ?
I guess that's nice of them. I never worked for a company that did that. Never heard of it either (in grocery). But don't they still make money on most items when they give 20% discount? Plus, they will probably end up with new permanent customers.
How about some cash, or stock in the company? Oh, I just remembered! in 1983 my employer gave out some stock. 1/2 of .01% of your annual salary was given to employees with 3 or more years seniority.
It was kind of a joke to us. Not much value. However about 15 years later, the company was sold and it tripled in value. Some people made a lot of money off of that.
