Our store runs a meal deal on frozen turkeys, we sell the turkey for 1.49, then give the customer 16 free items, that have like a 24 dollar regular retail, but no where near that in cost. It must be a 16lb or larger bird, We have done it for a few years it works well. Except e everybody wants an exactly 16 pounder!!!

It blows me away when I see I have to pay $1.19 for frozen birds and the grocery stores in town are giving them away, one store is at 57 and the other is at 59.
I take pre orders for fresh turkeys at $2.19 and should have them all sold when they darken my doorstep on monday.

I did consider a turkey promotion something like FREE Turkey, but you have to buy the bag to put it in, weigh the bag after the turkey is in the bag and sell the bag at turkey price....LOL

Thats some clever marketing. Our store has so much competion our turkey prices were a flop. I hope they start coming up with better plans for the market like ours surrounded by competion like we have. Its been a dishearting holiday so far.
