No. I've been tempted. Took a two hour lunch once and drank three beers, trying to decide if I wanted to go back (I did). Crumpled up and threw a cutting list (with a bunch of snide comments) at the manager once. Called a supervisor in the middle of the night and told him I was quitting (he talked me down). Threw a stack of metal trays against the wall once or twice. I used to have a temper. Now its been bred out of me. Don't know if its wisdom or exhaustion...
meat monkey, it's not wisdom or exhaustion, as we get older and see it all we just don't give a **** about some things that piss us off when we were younger.
i onces when i was starting out seen an assistant store manager follow a cutter to his car begging him to please come back....she was begging like it was for her life..lmao...10 min before that she was the bossiest bitch u could ever meat ...she changed the way she talked to people..lmao
Yes guilty as charged, I am firey tempered , partically if i am working for someone ,and they have over stepped the professional line. I mean respect has to be earnt ,it is not given lightly, I have to respect the person I'm working for, unfortunately many times I have seen practices which I don't care for, not only illegal ,but totally against any thing that I have learnt in my 37 years.
Oh I forgot to mention ,I hate thieves. A few years ago I was working for a contractor at various meat plants ,this particalur time it was beef. I had driven 245 miles to reach the plant always carried my knifes in a locked box in the boot (trunk) of my car. When I arrived ,the security staff check the car in and out after the shift. I started my shift, locking the rest of my knives in the locker provided. Now on the tea break I went back to the locker to get my horning stone. The lock had been forced and all my knives had been taken, Now I know that the full-time employees didn't like us contractors as we earned nearly twice their wage but to steal someones work tools that totally pissed me off. I complained to the management ,they didn't give s##t . I don't work for thieves.

NOPE NEVER HAD BUTTTTTTTT HAD A CO-WORKER THAT THREW OFF HIS HAT AND APRON TO THE GROUND AND SAY I QUIT RIGHT AT GRAND OPENING !!! AND THE NEXT DAY THE BIG BOSSES CALLED HIM BACK AND PUT HIM IN ANOTHER STORE AND GUESS WHERE THAT WAS ..... MINE !!! AND I GOT DROPPED DOWN HOURS
Would knocking out a store manager and leaving count, did that a few times LOL but that was back years ago when you could knock out one with out getting wrote up or arrested. Then the companies pass that dumb rule you couldn't slap one anymore.
In seriousness the worst place to start a rumble is where there are sharp knives and alike . A recent case not far from here ,where they employ east europians, there was a knife fight between Polish and lithuains (sp) ,20 men and two women had to be treated for knife wounds, not nice. Crazy world we live in!
Edited to keep in the spirit of the thread, The local employees all walked out fearing for their lives.
Understandably many have not returned and the company are finding it hard to replace those people.
