Awww come on I thought the meat Dept was special... LOL
Like Big Beef we specialize in Fresh Turkeys also. We booked them back in early september and wont see them until turkey week. We have our customers pre order from us so that come delivery time they are all pretty much sold out.

My store uses a refrigerated truck trailer outside in the side parking lot. In December, we have two. It would be impossible to keep all our product in the store. Not so much that we sell a lot (we do), but that the store is small.
the first delivery comes next wee, we have our own dedicated freezer just for the meat dept. it is in the rear of the meat cooler it fits 6 pallets( five if you want to walk into it. )the fresh birds come the week before thanksgiving, while im on vacation in florida........

Our store does that. They order thru the deli and they get it from us and cook it for a fee of course but you can the whole shabang, fixins and everything.
Frezer space is at a premium with all the departments loading up, and turkeys arriving last, if you can get some in early, Our Thanksgiving was very busy this year, Oct. 10th. in Canada.
unfortuanatly ours is coming tomorrow...honeysuckles .88 next week.....then will have our brand the 2 weeks before thanksgiving for .59....SO not looking forward to this!
Got our first shipment yesterday. 4 pallets with a bunch of Tur-duck-hens. About 2 weeks before Thanksgiving, we fire up the reefer (an entire trailer) to store them in. We'll have around 6 pallets of fresh stacked to the ceiling in our meat cooler and 4 pallets of frozen in our meat freezer. I'm already dreading this season. I'm hoping I can prove my worth stuffing pork roasts, making crown roasts, and prime ribs so I don't have to mess with turkeys.
Got 15 skids in today of frozen birds. Will get 15 skids next monday and 15 the monday after that. Then about 4 skids fresh birds, and a skid of free range birds on the way in a couple weeks. I love the holidays.
