RE: BE HONEST !!

The one thing that has made me a better cutter is Im not afraid to ask someone who is a more experienced cutter for a lesson or two on how to cut something better. I see all too often especially in men that they are too arogant and proud to think they have not done it all and better to ask someone who might know more. Ive learned alot from people ive worked with.

Anytime I work with a new cutter I always ask questions to better my skil. I have met a few Pinheads in 10 years that think women don't belong in a cutting room except to be the wrapper

Sorry Dudes...we women are consumers that will give you a superior product that Looks awesome. We are detail oriented and want the customer to have the best possible product. I have learned much by asking questions . That makes me a better cutter :)

Lack of patience. Especially with stupid people. Just like the idiot passed out across the street laying by a tree. Granted I've been there a time or two.

Tough question to break down & answer? There are a few things that come to mind, but I'll stick with 1 in this thread. "Team work" or better yet "Team consistency"!. As lead man in a crew of 4 cutters & 4 clerks, my example has to reflect company standards for quality, trim and presentation. However, "no man is an island jack" and in all honesty our profession is filled with temperamental egos. There will always be a rebel in the mix, the prideful one that wants to do things their way.   When that happens all my efforts are for naught , consistency suffers. no one is on the same page. I guess what I'm saying in a long winded fashion is how important it is to keep pride in check & for everyone to work towards the same goal, same standards, this will be encouraging for everyone in the department  The feel of friendly competition, motivates me to be a better cutter!.

I'd be a better meat cutter if I knew how to break down beef....
