I've been processing wild game full time for the past 12 years. I was wondering what kind of hourly pay is common today in grocery stores. When I left my last job, I was making $15 per hour. I took a temporary gig for 3 weeks at a small grocery store after Hurricanne Gustav and was paid $14 per hour.
i know its BS. I am making 11.friggin 50 an hour believe it or not thats only 50 cents more than i was making 10 years ago. whats wrong with this picture.
depending on who you work for and where you live, union or not. journeyman is anywhere from 13 to 20 and market manager are 15 to 21 per hour. back home in ct the stop and shop oldtimers are getting 32 for cutting and 36 i think for managing.
wild game is pretty good money,I know doing moose or elk can bring a guy about 300 to 400 a animal. That is with out doing the wrapping just cutting and boning it all out.About 3 hour job, no over head.Working in retail depends on the job, union 18 to 25 a hour.
Salaried meat cutters at my last job made 700-1200/wk for 60 hours. At my current store the meat cutters earn between 14-16/hr - I've only been offered up to 20/hr for Meat Manager. But I do know of a Meat Manager friend of mine around here making 70k/year. This is in Massachusetts, South Shore.

I would be offended if I had ur ex and someone try to pay me that....how do ya payment..Ur cost on stuff must be low as hell....minimum wage here is almost that
I make well over $22 an hour but I have merchandiser Experience and have negotiated contracts with vendors not to mention all my experience with R&D and new product development
most cutters in the midwest will make $14-$18 an hour Market managers in the $18-$21 range
