Hello Meat Cutters Club:
My name is Patrick Brescia and I work in casting at Powderhouse Productions in Boston. We are casting a new reality-competition series that celebrates the American worker and their respective industries!
We are looking for butchers who think they are the BEST of the best or have a great dynamic personality for TV. The Meat Cutters Club came highly recommended to us and we believe your butchers would be perfect for our show!
I attached the casting post which gives the instructions on how to apply to be a contestant on the show. I was hoping you could help me out. Would you please send the attachment to all the butchers you know? We are looking for the best of the best in this country and want to make our competition truly authentic.
Thank you so much for your help. Please let me know if you have any questions. I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards, Patrick Brescia Casting Powderhouse 212 Elm Street Somerville, MA 02144 www.powderhouse.net
Dear Mr. Patrick, My name is Leon Wildberger owner of the MEATCUTTERSCLUB, you can read my life experiences here, http://meatcuttersclub.com/leon.htm Received your e-mail and thought it was strange that I got this at this time, I have for many years fought with the the Big Meat Organizations trying to get a MEAT CUTTER OF THE YEAR AWARD in the USA. You have 5 countries that give this award from a field of 100's of meat cutters, Here in the USA the beef companies only back a Steak House Meat Cutter for this award. There is only about 330 meat cutters entered. As the owner of the MEATCUTTERSCLUB I have talk with a few companies and chain stores that would be willing to help promote a State winner to get it started. I was going to try to get this started here in Georgia in the next few months.
So you see why now I said, I Received your e-mail and thought it was strange that I got this at this time. I really like your ideal and HOPE you would be willing to push for a MEAT CUTTER OF THE YEAR AWARD for the best meat cutter of the season in your show. I will post your attachment To Our Message Board And Also Give You Our Business Spotlight Add Next Week
I will post the casting post which gives the instructions on how to apply to be a contestant on the show this Monday when I put it on the Business Spotlight
This is nice to hear. I've been a Meatcutter for Harps Grocery for about 7 years now. A Majority of it was spent traveling and working under quite a few Old Timers. Many a times, I've jokingly told them how much more Awesome I am than they ever were *Quite the opposite, actually*! I learned a lot from a great number of No-nonsense Butchers...and I'm still learning to this day! I'm going to try this out. Maybe I can show those guys, that I've respected so much, that they actually taught me a thing or two that stuck! Lol
I think they need to throw a few old hounds in there to add to the mix.If this was canada I would probably throw my hat in.I think the young guns might have to speed up to keep up to this old boy.Interesting if it will be hanging or block ready when they do the show.
The funny thing is I told my wife awhile ago about this idea. She said it sounded boring and nobody would ever do a show on cutters. Now I can be right for once.
i personally think this competition is made for bigbeef, masteryeti, and larry you guys should try out
I plan on it!!
I have been on TV many times before and was approached years ago by a new TV channel that I should have taken chance with, who would have known that The Food Network would have caught on so big

There was a TV show around 2006 called "10 items or less". It was set in a grocery store. The meat cutter got a lot of time in the show. It wasn't very real. He was the only meat employee, but there was still time to spend not working. Despite all the unreal things in the show, I still liked the 2 or 3 episodes I saw. There's a bunch on youtube, I just checked. I have to go to work. No time to find a good one for you. Anyway, just go to youtube and search "10 items or less". You'll have to tolerate a commercial before the show begins.
As for the proposed new show, I'm too boring in my personal life and not good enough in my professional life to be in it.

I appreciate the nod butcher but I like my current situation and am interested in longevity. No flash-in-the-pan BS and I'm afraid that's what this will be.
