oh yeah..our ground chuck is going up again for the 2nd time in 6 weeks. my theory is it all goes back to the gas prices, farmers, meat transportation and so on all have tomake up for their loss due to the gas prices so they raise the wholesale prices and us grocery workers have to do the same. thats what i tell my customers when they complain about prices. its not my fault its the greedy gas and oil companies who are screwing us over. i am sure it makes sence to them when they think about it.
Beef has went up just a little at my company and Chicken is stable The only change we have seen is our Sale Items are not as low as they used to be Just had Ribeyes on sale for $6.77/lb 6 weeks ago they were $5.99/lb

as long as the US dollar stays weak the price of oil climbs. As the price of oil goes up so does fuel costs. as the price of fuel goes up the price of everything that gets shipped goes up

It's pretty much across the board here. We're now seeing "gas charges" on invoices. Lamb went up 53% over the last 6 months. Beef is going to be scary expensive and I don't even want to think about seafood pricing. They're already talking about bad or weak wheat and corn this season. This is bad news for next year! Gas won't ever come down to an acceptable level. The oil companies have ripping people off down to a science. Those of you that get cost of living increases in your wage or salary, you're lucky! Those of us that don't are really screwed!
i noticed just today i use to buy eye of the round for 4.39 a kg there charging me 6.81 a kg......wich still aint bad its angus and i merchandise it well
strips now are 15 something a kg and couple moth ago i was paying 9 something a kg.............i think the prices are mainly switchin cause season to.......supply and demand u wanna sell strips you gotta pay for them
our meat department is doing a thousand a day more than last week.price changes started last sunday on some things and more this sunday with even more to come this coming sunday.if people will pay for it(gas, food, electric, etc.) why would they drop the prices?things will only change if there are boycotts like in the early seventies, before Nixon put a freeze on inflation.
I know what you are talking about on the prices. Our beef pricing keeps heading up, Pork is slowly rising and chicken is stable for now. I think more people will be going with Pork and chicken this Summer at my store . Beef, I'll have to keep an eye on. Ground Beef and Chuck, over $3.OO A # and thye're still buying it.
