We were a little long ham and got prorated a few more. I guess the warehouse was a little long too.
I did have to tell a few hundred customers that we were out of live crawfish. Got in all we found get and sold all we got. I could have sold 150 more sacks of I could have gotten. That would have been nearly $9,000.00 more in sales.
butcher29 Ii remember when i use to go hiking but it wasn't with my dogs lol i'm glad in a way i didn't have to fool with hams this year, but i would be lieing if i said i didn't miss it. being on disabilty and retired sucks some times
spiral ham and butts and shank portions were gone this morning.still had the whole boneless left...noone asked for anything though...the store was painfully slow. it was one of the days where you just stand around for the last hour and half trying to look a little busy cuz the boss is probably watching you on the monitor.
alive don't you just hate trying to figure out what to do with all the picnics after the holiday? i got quite a few of those left too...I ll probably end up slicing them for the deli.. I would slice them for the meat case but we already got a load of ham steaks
butcher29, are you allow to make a display in with the stores egg section ?? That has worked for me in some of the stores i've worked over the years. also can you sell cube ham for salad with maybe a small display of chesse, pickles
yes i could put ham with egg but i use the space they give me to sell bacon i make way more money than i would ham steak......and no i never cubed it but that is an idea to try......i never put pinapple on it either thats another good idea.....
we got stuck with 17 cases, 8 of them sprial date goes past mother's day so may get rib of more of them then. at lest that is what my market manager says.

holy crap 17 cases in a month thats alot your manager should drop price to cost with a t bar sign to clean them up..lol
Didn't have too many left over this year. We always have to prebook them a couple months ahead so its a guessing game with them. Spirals went pretty good as well as boneless. Sliced and tied a few boneless hams and vac packed them up. sold them as well.
