There is nothing wrong with that and no reason you can't still participate on the meat cutter's club. A lot of us are not meat cutters anymore. What are you thinking for a second career?
Don't know yet fdarn, taking a few months to clear my head.
and then see what's out there. I'm going to look at something fun and low stress.
I was thinking about guitar center because guitar is a hobby of mine.not worried about the money yet.
I got a good retirement but I got to get out of the house and do something.
guys I don't get on here very often anymore like I should but I was almost to the point of just getting burned out on the meat business and was about to hang it up.Then one of my cutters had to go in the hospital for a while for some medical problems and I got to work with a new apprentice some and it has renewed my lease on the business, maybe it is a dying trade here in the south but dammit I still love to cut! Even after 16 yrs and the shop falling apart 3 or 4 times I'm still loving it.So bucklester let me know what you get into so I can check it out in about 20 yrs or so that's what I have left til retirement age if my liver holds up that long anyway, and keep in touch with us here. You never know when the next little guy that talks with you could be the next man to revive the trade
Good luck and God Bless you! I retired from meatcutting in 1996 at the age of 45 after 28 years in the trade. For me, it was the right decision. I only wish I made the decision a few years earlier. Let us know how it goes.

If I were you, I would take the risk of starting a career as a poker player. It's a lucrative job if you can keep cool and make cold-blooded decisions.
Almost all famous players started with free or penny tournaments, micro-limit cash tables, and a modest bankroll. But even today, we can see what they were able to achieve and how long it took them to do it. In my time, I also started with this, and I was losing all the time. But I didn't stop there; I became one of the best players in my country. Now I enjoy the process, and sometimes I can hang out here 1houseofpokies.com/ or elsewhere in search of cash.
