Meat Cutter Hazards in Meat Markets and Departments

This article was posted by Washington State Department of Labor and Industries.

http://www.lni.wa.gov/Safety/Topics/AtoZ/MeatDepartments/

Meat cutters working in grocery store meat departments or independent meat markets (butcher shops) perform tasks that put them at risk for injuries due to cutting tools and machinery, high-force or repetitive motions, heavy boxes, slippery floors, and other potentially hazardous conditions.

Can you share with our members about this issue in your company?

Do you have a worker safety program in your store?

Is meat cutter safety ever discussed on the job on a regular basis?

Thank You
