Fresh & Easy will close or sell its 97 stores in California, Nevada and Arizona, the company said Wednesday. The chain, which was founded by UK retailer Tesco in 2007, has made strides toward a turnaround over the last two years, but no longer has enough cash or financing to keep the business in operation, Fresh & Easy spokesman Brendan Wonnacott said. Los Angeles Times (tiered subscription model)

Saw this today: Tesco Urged To Shut Down More Stores (April 2015) after a record loss of;

£6.38bn loss

Annalist say they should close a minimum of 200 stores:
