Is there a owners / management class / school for this industry?

hi once again

wondering if there is a 1 - 2 week class somewhere around north america on the business aspects of a sausage shop. I am not at all talking about learning to cut or stuff sausage. I am asking about marketing, employee relationships, retailing concepts, internet marketing, community involvement /relationships etc etc. Not talking accounting either. Is there guru's who know this industry & offer custom coaching per chance? Also, any conventions, trade shows or magazines?

Con

I don't know of a course that does this.
Lots of courses that do one of these at a time at local colleges
Your son is going to have to learn this either by asking questions of people he knows in the industry he can trust or by hard knocks
Go to other shops and take mental notes of what you like and don't like
Lots of Magazines for the industry. Some months they have good stuff others not so good
"Like" Other Facebook pages and copy the good stuf

Like Joe, I do not know of a crash course in the industry. In addition to the suggestions Joe offers I would also suggest visiting the American Association of Meat Processors web site : www.aamp.com there are many great learning opportunities there. Also check to see if your state has an association. Many do. Google your state name followed by association of meat processors. Both AAMP and state associations have trade conventions, helpful processor members and supplier members. Vast majority of them are willing to share and give sound advice to new processors. What state are you located in, maybe I can give you some processor leads to talk to.
Trade publications there are a few. I find Meatingplace.com to be a good resource.

Such a course would be a great idea. I don't know of one offered at the moment.
