in wholefoods steak burgers were ground up steaks from day before.
in ireland we sell ordinary mince which is chuck and steak mince which is ground round silverside and such.
we dont even make burgers here its bought in 75% beef rest breadvcrumbs seasons etc when ppl look for steak burgers they are amazed i go make them one when boss isnt there. but sister store makes burgers and they grind everything 3 times so its dense and solid
Sounds like a take off on Steak N Shake and the steak burger. If they really are grinding trim and tails from steaks go for it. If its just another name for their ground beef then I don't deem it truly accurate or honest.

it won the best burger in ireland with the craft butchers this year and helped us win the title of BBQ Butcher of the year( later in the year we won craft butcher of the year )
It seems to be a commonly used term in Ireland. Here is the States I see it only sometimes and it is very vague in the explaination as it includes no meat to fat ratio which I thought was illegal.
What is in your steak burgers?

here you can label anything as you wish to call it
however as of next month all products must have allergens and the ingredents on the label so that customers know what they are actually getting
