Down Memory Lane

Lets go down memory lane

How many of you remember using the old scales like these and almost every one had a beer opener stuck to the back of them, scales had some kind of display in front of them so customers couldn't see how much the meat weighed. the first modern Hobart scales was done this way also.

How many of you ever worked a market where once the state man left the market the tare was run forward so there was 30 to 60 cents on each package till a week and half before you looked for him to be back.

RE: Down Memory Lane

I learned on those scales. The owner told me to throw the meat down hard and read fast! He also had no idea what tare meant.
