I don't know much about them other than my wife shops there sometimes. But because I haven't heard much that could be a good thing. I can tell you safeway and giant and kroger are all downsizing like crazy. I haven't heard that about Publix so maybe its a secure place to work.
not a problem being employed. I have been a Meat Cutter/Manager for 30 years, Been a chain cutter for 25 years. Winter sucked here this year (Michigan).
it sucked here too in chicago !! i am too unemployed i worked 16.5 yrs for Dominicks as a meat wrapper..... and dont want to go to Jewel so i guess i stay unemployed for a few lol
I seen 4 Dominicks stores on an auction site. I think two were last week and two more this coming week. Is one of these your old store kar?
My parents live in Florida and do almost all their shopping at Publix. When they first moved there I had to go down to help them find a decent place to find meat. Publix was the best option in my opinion, meat has always been good, very fairly priced and the employees have always been friendly and helpful at the store they visit. Happy employees on the floor usually means a decent company I feel.

From what I hear pay is good benefits are good and its not publicly traded stock yet. A lot of people will be rich overnight once they go public. And yes they are growing fast. If I wasn't at Costco I would be there.
