Albertsons Owner to Buy Safeway for More than $9 Billion

This is what always concerned me about this business. In almost 30 years in the business all I ever heard was the low profit margins and how hard it was to make a profit  So why are these outfits constantly growing and expanding if it is such a dismal field??
