I am a young meat cutter that joined this club to learn new things and take advice from more experienced cutters. As of Monday this week, I started my training as a meat department manager, and Monday of next week I will be a full blown market manager without anyone holding my hand. I am 26 years old so that will make me the youngest market manager in my company. I have learned a lot and taken all advice to heart and it seems to have payed off. I would like to thank everyone that has helped me so far on this journey. I would also like to thank the club for helping to keep this trade alive. Us cutters are making a comeback, and I would love to see the day that our trade is restored to it's former glory. It will get to that point if we keep informing consumers that fresh cut meat is better than prepacked meat, also a willingness to serve the customer, a machine that's already cut the product a week ago isn't going to cut that 1 1/4" thick steak that the customer wants right there on the spot, but a butcher or meat cutter can. Meat Cutters Club, keep doing what you are doing, and to all meat cutters and butchers TAKE PRIDE IN OUR TRADE.
CONGRATULATIONS on your new market manager position! It's such a great feeling when we feel like our hard work and efforts finally pay off! I have been very impressed with this group and the collaboration that I see. It's great to support and learn from one another. Best wishes to you in your new position!
