I never worked for harris teeter (someone else in here did for years as a meat manager. I am sure he will post information for you soon) I did live in virginia for years and I shopped in harris teeter. its a very nice store. A little high priced but that means they can pay their people well. Everyone I know who worked there was happy to work there. I am from Michigan and we moved to Virginia. It was a very nice change of scenery. I miss the place.

There is another member here who knows all about them so make sure you check back here I am sure he will have some good information for you.

I worked for them for 2 years
Went through the Training program at the Fairfax VA store and then took over the Pork Potomac, MD Store
If I could have sold my house in WI I would still be working for them and would probably be a regional Meat Merchandiser
I loved working for them.
I was treated very fairly. I got to come home to my wife and kids when ever I wanted to.
We got bonus checks twice a year
great benefits
My Store Managers and Regional and Corporate managers treated me like I mattered and my opinion counted

GOD I MISS THEM

Did 4 years at the flagship store in Charlotte, #160 as a cutter and 3 months near the coast as manager. Charlotte was great, New Bern was really bad. Some regions are better than others-I would give it a shot, but Kroger is testing all prepack and did buy them. Food Lion will go all pre pack next year, around March, according to my friend, a manager there.
