The Meatcuttersclub has help a lot of meat cutters over it's 12 year online, It is known in 52 countries and I want it to continue to help those in our Trade.
 
As many of you know I'm now 70 years old, have had a few health issues that has for now been eliminated but I don't have many years left in this old world.
 
I have fought for a meat cutting course to be added to North Western Tech College here in Dalton, Ga. for almost 2 years now. Next week I will be turning in all the surveys I have collect over the past few month from Grocery stores, meat shops and meat processors to the College, Then after they study them I will find out if they will add the course.
 
Next week I will also be going forward with seeking a non profit status for the Club, article of incorporation from the state of Ga. As a non profit the Club can do more and do things better for meat cutters and our Trade. As many of you know this will not be a over night thing, more than likely it make take three or four months
 
I will e-mailing some of you to ask if you would be a Appoint Initial Director, Our mission statement or statement of purpose for our organization has to be discussed as our incorporated organization will exists for educational, charitable reasons, advance training for meat cutters. NO trustees do not benefit financially from this non profit other than a small salary for Directors. Since I have to incorporate the Club I will be listed as the Executive Director, I do not feel a life time entitlement to be Executive Director, Board members will set the length of time a Director will serve, also the length of time a Board member will serve.
Club members fdarn our Club WebMaster, Jetplane our Club Graphic Artist will also be paid a small salary set by the board. 
 
While their is many things to still discuss, they will coming as we go along BUT I want to say,  EACH member of the Meat Cutters Club will have a vote on Board Members and any considering will be posted a month before them acting on it so you can voice your opinion either on the message board below it or in a personal e-mail to the board.
 
In the 12 years of this Club, I have ask members to give money I think three times for members that were in trouble or a personal problem that they needed help on. I'M NOT ASKING YOU TO BUT IF YOU WANT TO DONATE A FEW DOLLARS TO THE COST OF THE INITIAL FEE'S THERE WILL SOON BE A DONATE BUTTON PLACE ON THE SITE SO YOU CAN DONATE A DOLLAR OR WHAT EVER YOU WISH TOO.
 
This site isn't about me or my ego BUT about each of you here that loves our trade, has Pride in it and wants to help past it on to our younger cutters that wants a place in it.

Leon glad to here you are going to be around awhile longer, In fact maybe you should be Director as long as the board votes you in without a time limit , Our president wants a third term so why not Leon LOl. In all seriousness you have put your soul and time into this for many years and also the guys that help you build the site and maintain it. I am pretty sure there will be a lot of red tape and laws to obey to be nonprofit. Man I sure am glad I am not old like you. Oh back to the subject , Let me know when you have a donation link and I will be glad to help out. One of my coworkers said he joined up lately , He was a food lion market mgr. for about 20 yrs. He will take over for me when I lay the ole cleaver down.

I'll do what I can, count on that. I've been out of the meat business as a butcher for over 10 years now. Yet I'll always be a butcher, always interested in the trade and those still in the industry. Obligated of sorts to promote just what a meatcutter/butcher is to the general public. Your efforts Leon, this site in particular, have rekindled my devotion to our trade.

Hi... I am new only 1 or 2 years on this site. But it has been great. I have found some Good inspiration and discusions in here. Im also on my way out of the business as a manager with " Hands on the meat" to become a Project manager, with a task to help transform the meat department in 2 chains of supermarket/hypermarket in to international standards. So I will still be supporting this site and contribute as much as I can. And get inspired by you all. Let me know if I can help Leon!
