Today I went by to see Todd Richardson, COO/EVP and meat director for Rossville, Ga.-based Shop-Rite Supermarkets. He had filled out one of the surveys for North West Georgia Tech College to help us get the Meat Cutting Course added to their curriculum. Todd says he sees a lot of good things coming out of a course like this.
Todd is no stranger to a Forschner knife. A third-generation member of the Shop-Rite family, He started with the company by bagging groceries in 1989, and moved into the meat department in 1991. Six years later he was overall meat director.”
In 2008 Todd assumed duties as chief of operations. Shop-Rite Supermarket in Ringgold recently celebrated its 57th year of service to the community.The local chain, which began with the Ringgold store, now has seven locations in north Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. The store opened in 1956 and the chain of stores shows no signs of slowing down.
Todd has made the company's hallmark " quality meats" Shop Rite " offer the highest quality meats at the best prices,” he said. “Our meat department is what keeps us competitive.” Todd said. “We value our customers very much, and we always try to do everything we can to take care of them to ensure that they keep coming to see us. We’re the hometown store, and it’s all about building relationships that matter.”
“It just goes to show you that if you provide quality products, quality service, and if you treat people right, they’ll keep coming back to you,” The chain has locations in Ringgold, LaFayette, Chickamauga and Tunnel Hill in Georgia and in Jasper, Tenn., Dayton, Tenn., and Stevenson, Ala.
