“Even in a male dominated industry, nothing is impossible. Dare to dream and dream big,” says Abigail.
The other winner on the night was Jack Khosrawi from Auckland’s PAK’n SAVE Lincoln Road, who took out the Competenz Butcher Apprentice of the Year category.
As his prize, Jack will accompany Abigail to Europe next year to support the Pure South Sharp Blacks in the Tri Nations Butchery Competition.
The Young Butcher and Butcher Apprentice competition is supported by Alto Packaging, Competenz, Beef + Lamb New Zealand, Dunninghams, Hellers, Kerry Ingredients, New Zealand Pork, Wedderburn, Wilson Hellaby, Cabernet Foods, Natural Farm and Tegel.
