Located in eastern North Carolina about one hour east of Raleigh, N.C.
This plant has been open since 1975. We are operating under USDA Inspection as a T/A facility. After 38 years the owner has retired to pursue other interest. The majority of the plant was built in the 1990’s. New waste water facilities were built in 1999/2000 and all permits are currently active and in compliance. Over the last several years this plant has slaughtered hogs only but can accommodate cattle, pigs, market hogs, sows, boars, sheep, goats, or lambs.
At peak capacity the slaughter rate for hogs was approximately 3000 head per week. All walls and ceilings are fiberglass and stainless steel. All interior doors are stainless steel. Rail heights are 11 feet in the slaughter and carcass cooler areas. The stunning/bleeding area has a 16 foot ceiling. The entire ceiling in the slaughter and chill cooler area is solid precast concrete. The processing floor has a moving meat conveyor and a box conveyor takes finished product to the freezers. There are 5 deep loading docks and one street level dock. There is also a plant and truck maintenance shop. Two offices are located in the plant with a separate cooperate office available. There is also a tractor trailer truck scales at the entrance to the facility. All compressors and electrical rooms are in a second floor cooling tower away from water and other hazards.
This is one of the cleanest nicest small to medium size plants you will find anywhere. For sale by owner and motivated to sell.
