The 9 cents per pound for cut and wrap seems too cheap compared with the other prices. That is unless they are charging you live weight, it does mention slaughtering. Usually it's hanging weight.

$75 to harvest a beef seems about right... I am guessing. Consider that the shop does not transfer ownership of the beef, it is only a service charge.

I cut and wrapped in 2011 and 2012. $0.40/lbs hanging +$40 harvest fee.

I called a meat market in Denver, Co. Sat. morning to get a lady living out that way a side of beef, 330 avg. was 810.00 total.

 

In the early 70's in Atlanta, union wage was 13.50 a hour, my wife was a meat wrapper with 15 years in and made 11.35
