Talking local with the brothers in charge of John's Meat Market in downtown Scotch Plains!

On the fourth episode of Let's Talk Local, we visit John's Meat Market, an iconic and historic landmark for the downtown area of Scotch Plains. Vincent Losavio tells us a little about the business while Nicholas Losavio shows us how he makes one of their best selling items.

Looks like a neat place to work at OR shop at. I wish we sold Prime beef. It's nice working with the best. I wonder if it's 100% carcass beef or do they get a few extra pieces in the box? I started at a place that had mostly carcass. You could buy a half or quarter beef and we had a counter. But in addition to that, would get a case or two of boneless beef loins (AKA New Yorks) each week. Maybe some tenderloins and top sirloins. Also some peeled knuckles because we sold a lot of meat to Mexican restaurants for carne asada.
