Floors were never cleaner than when we used sawdust.

We still have sawdust it is great floors clean 74 years and going

here on the west coast of Canada I bet its been 35-40 yrs that the health regs. poo hooed the use of sawdust on the floors of cutting rooms. Yes that brings back memories
