Every Summer we here at the Club don't post or visit as often because we are doing things with family and friends. Or we take advatage of the weather to run, walk, hunt, fish or whatever is our thing lol
I know myself when summer hit I was always on a horse, riding the trails or doing the horse shows. But I was wondering if members might find a few mins to drop in and let us know how they spending their summer.
So take a min to let us know what you been up to lol
I'm outdoors most of the time, when I can be! I have a 4 wheeler, and I take a ride about every night to relax. The other night a big black bear and I almost met each other, so we went in opposite directions!! A little scary !!
My wife & I spent 8 weekends of the summer traveling with our 15 yr old daughters Class A Fastpitch Travel Softball Team the Downriver Diamonds. We get a chance to watch some great fastpitch talent, as well as getting our daughter exposed to the college scouts that attend many of these tournaments hoping she might catch on to a scholarship somewhere by the time she reaches her senior year of high school. Family First ! Hope everyone else is having a great summer too !! Just call me FastpitchFitz ! LOLOL !
lots of family time, we have two kids that love sports of all kinds, we try to support them in it all. a lot of back yard cook outs, my wifes way of getting out of cooking lol but i get to cook what i want.
I spend the evenings after work tending my vegetable garden, then finish each night enjoying cigars and Bourbon in my screened in gazebo on my deck. Since I live and work 600 miles from my "real" home, not much else to do. When I do take a vacation as I will next week, I go home to beautiful Pennsylvania to spend a week with my wife and daughters. There I'll spend some time on my Yamaho Rhino in my woods and bringing in firewood for the winter, as well as working the sizeable "Honey do" list that will surely be waiting for me.
I thought it was suppose to get easier the older you got???
work , work, and work,...we only get 2-3 months of summer to this is our busiest time up here-the stores need to have a good summer to make it thru the leaner months. been putting alot of hours in!!!
but on my time/days off.....
On the weekends this summer (or days off) I've been volunteering my time alot, at different stores taking part for various fundraisers-mostly for special olympics, the company I work for is a huge sponsor of special olympics, and we encourage the stores to do special promotions to raise monies, I didnt know much about special olympics until I went to the winter events last year...and its unbelievable, how these challenged kids look forward to this event...
I also work some hours "under the table" when I can - my son is in college, third year in pharmacy college, an opportunity I never had- also pay for his health insurance, etc, etc, and now Im in debt up to my eyeballs, ( I tell him when he's making 100k in a few yrs and I'm picking up bottles and cans beside the road,,,,,remember the sacrifice
Any leisure time I do get I enjoy mowing my lawn,,,, but I also enjoy getting out to golf when I can,,,,good exercise something I never ever thought id enjoy...but I do- my son and I play, good times together
we have a couple family get togethers each summer...big lobster feed and then play some serious poker(favorite family past -time)
I use to fish alot and have a few beers ....during the summers.... I need to make more time for that too

Working seven days a week, been doing a little bit of shooting when I have a chance. Tried to blow up a log jam in my dads creek with tannerite, no dice. The same day, which was my birthday mind you, we lit my parents field on fire with fireworks. There was a ban on fireworks at the time. Being a certified firefighter, I made the comment before walking outside, "This is not a good idea." And...it wasn't. Also been going through the application for the new job. Passed the background test, and pending the drug test I took on Friday I will fill you ladies and gentlemen in further.
My summer got hijacked by illness, not me but my daughter has been sick with a nasty staph infection that required surgery then while run down got mono and a bunch of side effects from the drugs so just tending to her and working alot (6 days most weeks) Other than that just getting ready to rent out my place and get the #@!! outta here! Not sure where I'm goin but I'll let u know when I get there!
