Butchers and Meat Cutters Employment and Wages, 2010

States and areas with the highest published employment, location quotients, and wages for this occupation are provided

when you get down to the maps, run your curser over each state for wages

Lot of info here, worth the time to check it out

Leon, very good info

The pay scales up in rural maine should be less than most places-less populous, less competition, less volume, no union in maine

but the ave hrly rates seem to be higher than on the scale

a head-cutter in a chain store makes about 18.00 hr

Really interesting. You can definitely tell where there are major packing areas.

And here is perhaps another difference between a butcher ( works at a slaughterhouse) and a retail meatcutter-the retail meatcutter-the end-user and merchandisers, make a little more than the processing plant meatcutters
(thats the case in this area)
