Congrats Joe!!! I'm definitely gonna visit your store. I was in Chicago touring stores about 9 months ago. I wish we would have stopped by your shop. It looks awesome! What do your shoppers have to say about Whole Foods and Fox and Obel? Most of the Whole Foods stores that I toured were pretty slick, Fox and Obel were WAY overpriced and Dominicks and Treasure Island were pretty much meh.
We have won over the Whole foods crowd in a big way. We don't do the organic stuff but they are impressed we know exactly where our meat comes from Fox and Obel was great in it's time but I am afraid they are on their way out. A lot of the staff has been let go and a few remain. Whole Foods and Marianos are nailing their coffin Jewel is the big boy in the Chicago area with Whold Foods and Dominicks rounding the top three Marianos is a new comer from my old company, Roundy's
Funny thing is all of these guys have come to visit us now The Regional VP for Whole foods has been shopping us and buying a few of our specialty items. No doubt these were for personal consumption we are sure Last week we had the President of Jewel and his VP of Real Estate, VP of Meat, and VP of Produce in. Men in suits get us to ask questions Yesterday we had the guys from Sara Lee meat Division in and they toured us.
It's nice to be noticed like this It means you are doing something right because you are putting the hurt on someone
I would love to see you in the shop and will be glad to give you a tour RJ was in this last Saturday and it was nice meeting him in person
