Safeway agreed to sell 16 Genuardi's Family Markets locations in the Philadelphia region to Giant Food, which expects to convert the stores in six months. "This is an opportunity for us to serve underserved areas where customers have not been introduced to Giant's quality, selection and savings," said Giant spokesman Chris Brand.
