The quality of sausages has improved immensley since its inception. The humble snag now retails around $9.99kg now from $2.99kg 10 years ago. The gourmet section is now the largest with some retailers having 12 different varieties. Traditional beef is restricted to one per outlet. Queensland has 7 regions in the six catergories a total of 150 -200 entries are judged with the winner of each going to state final then to national which is held in a different state each year. The value adding, pastry and wet dishes are now picking up momentum with some great innovative entries [see pictures in knife and steel]
